I believe the Smithtown Town Board must be involved in promoting business growth in the Town of Smithtown. (A prosperous business district equates to a more stable community). Regarding business development in Smithtown the role of the Town Board is vital because it is my opinion that we are in the early stages of business district re-development in our community. Recently, I have negotiated with the principles of CATZ of Long Island to locate in the Town of Smithtown rather than in the Town of Huntington. CATZ will now occupy the vacant P. C. Richards building located on Veterans Hwy in Commack, NY. I am extremely proud to have initiated negotiations with representatives of Simon Properties for the re-development of the Smithaven Mall. I believe as a member of the Town Board I will be able to continue my efforts to encourage businesses to consider development possibilities in the Kings Park business district as well.
